Energy across the whole picture, from how it is bought to what gets built.
Energy Business Intelligence is a senior practice led by Luke Backhouse. The work is with businesses that use a lot of energy, in the UK and internationally, and with the teams inside them who carry the cost, the sites and the targets. It spans energy procurement and capital projects, battery storage and private networks, metering and data, AI native tools, and carbon origination.
Luke has worked in energy for 17 years. He qualified as an electrician, then spent a decade as a director and shareholder of an M&E contractor, where he founded its renewables arm and took the business into solar, storage and EV charging. Since founding Energy Business Intelligence in 2020 he has advised funds, manufacturers, utilities, brokers and public bodies, led UK, Ireland and Asia Pacific sales for a Nasdaq listed storage and fast charging manufacturer, and structured a 300MW international microgrid and EV hub programme. He sits with boards as an adviser and non executive, and builds the practice’s own software with AI.
The through line is accountability. We do not hand over a report and leave. Where we advise, we are prepared to deliver, and where we earn, we disclose it.
